Regional School Unit #12

Westport is a member of Sheepscot Valley Regional School Unit #12, and as a part of RSU #12 gives residents “school choice.”  School choice means that a student whose parents live here can choose to attend any public or private school that will accept him or her.  The Town pays the cost of tuition up to the State-determined, average per-student cost.

Parents, or guardians, will be asked by the school that their child will be attending to complete an RSU #12 Residency Verification Form at the Town Office for the Town to validate and confirm its tuition responsibility.  Our supervisory unit manages the administrative process of educating our students regardless of what school they attend.
