Absentee Voting Underway for November 6 General/Referendum Election
Westport Island voters may now request absentee ballots from the Town Clerk for the November 6, 2018 General/Referendum Election. See the Announcement of Absentee Voting for further information.
In person absentee voting began on October 9 in the Town Clerk's Office at the Town Office, 6 Fowles Point Road, Westport Island. Voters may vote in the Town Clerk's Office or complete an absentee ballot application to have their ballot mailed to them or pick it up and take it home with them between October 9 and November 1. Any ballots voted outside of the office will need to be returned by the close of polls on Tuesday, November 6, at 8 pm.
After November 1, voters will need a special circumstance to request an absentee ballot.
Offices voted on will include US Senator, US Representative and Governor. On a local ballot, voters will be asked to affirm the draft Vision Statement of the Comprehensive Planning Committee that was developed based on the 295 respondents of this summer’s survey. The proposed Vision Statement will form the basis for the Comprehensive Plan update to follow.
